Estimated time? 2pm

Nearest city? Cadiz

Nearest Road(s): Beech Bend Dr. and HWY 274

Length of time the encounter lasted: 1 minute

Please describe your encounter:

My dog was barking at the backdoor that is not his usual signal to go out. I opened the door and as I opened the storm door the dog burst past me pushing the door out of my hand as he shot down the steps on the deck headed for the fence in our backyard I followed. What I saw was about 70 feet away the sunlight fully lighting his backside as he moved fast as a deer to the cover of the woods. I yelled for my wife to come here now she came and we both listened as the thing ran off thru the woods breaking large branches as it ran out of earshot.

Describe the creature with detail:

It was 8 to 9 feet tall covered in silvery black hair the hair was 6 to 8 inches long and was thin allowing me to see what I think was light colored skin beneath. I did not see its face as it was already heading away from me when my eyes fell on it but I can describe its build. It had a muscular back and long muscular arms it was tall legs like the most powerful athlete.

Any additional Info?

The visual encounter only lasted a second or two we heard it for about a minute. Since that experience we have payed more attention to the activity in the area. most recently we have been hearing vocalizations as well as wood knocking. these experiences have been more frequent this last year. day time and night time activity.

Follow-Up: 10-21-11

I spoke to Warren over the phone. He was very grateful to speak with me. I could tell from his excitement that this encounter has convinced him without a doubt in the existence of bigfoot. He said it was a very sunny, hot summer day, when about 2:00pm his dog really wanted to get out the backdoor. Before Warren could open the door all the way, his dog burst out the door and ran straight for the fence, barking frantically. At this moment Warren got a great view of the back of a 9 foot tall, massive bigfoot running into the tree line. “It was running bent over on two legs. I would say it was about 50-70 feet away. I could see the hair part from its movement. The hair was black with a silver shine. It was not as thick as I would of imagined. I could see the skin when the hair parted, the skin looked white or grey in color. Having hair this thin wouldn't give it much warmth in the winter. It was not matted hair, it looked well-groomed. It had very wide shoulders and a small waste. Its legs were very massive and muscular.” The feet were not noticed as the grass was tall. When Warren called for his wife, they could hear the heavy foot-falls and large tree breaks as it made its escape through the woods. “It sounded like it would stop every few seconds and break a large branch. It did this 3 to 5 of times.” Warren also informed me that in May 2000 at the corner of Hwy 274 and Prizer Point Road, late one evening, he saw what he at first thought it was a poacher standing in the tree line looking at him with night vision, due to the red eyes. “It was about 50 yards from my vehicle and my lights briefly caught it as I rounded a corner. It looked like a big man in a ghillie suit. I never gave much thought, until my recent sighting! I’ve also discovered since then that night vision would of looked green, not red.” Warren also mentioned that his family hears low whoops and tree knocks frequently.

Your first name: Angela

Which county? Trigg

Estimated date? 5/30

Estimated time? 9:30 pm

Nearest city? Cadiz

Nearest Road(s): hwy 68

Length of time the encounter lasted: 20 seconds

How many witnesses? 2

Please describe your encounter:

My family and I were driving home from fishing at Lake Barkley state park marina and the Sasquatch was standing by the road. We drove past but I looked out the drivers side window and saw it standing there. I turned the car around to find it and when I returned to the spot, it had run off into the trees. My son Steven stated that he saw it run off into the woods right after we saw it.

Describe the creature with detail:

A bout 7.5 to 8 feet tall, light brown color fur. man shaped. standing on two feet, bipedal.

Follow Up: 6-3-11

I spoke to Angela at great length over the phone. She seems very credible and sincere. Her answers to my questions were never embellished--if she didn't know the answer, or didn't observe a detail, she told me so. It wasn't completely dark yet--still dusk when she left Lake Barkley Marina via an access road heading toward Hwy 68. This is a heavily wooded area with many deer. As she rounded a corner, about .25 miles before reaching Hwy 68, doing about 35-40mph, she saw a deer standing on the right side of the road. She did have her high beams on. As her van approached the deer, both her and her 11 yr old son who was sitting in the back seat saw a 7' tall bigfoot standing on the left side of the road. It was about 5' from the road (van) standing motionless in the newly mowed grass. It was light brown with wide shoulders. Medium length, un-groomed hair covered its entire body. The head sat directly on the shoulders, with no apparent neck. Patchy hair covered most of the face. The only feature noticed was a severely crooked gorilla-shaped nose. "It looked broken, like someone hit it in the face with a shovel", stated Angela. The eyes, mouth, etc. were not discernable. She seemed to only catch a glimpse of the nose, as it was so incredibly deformed. The hair on its forehead/face seemed patchy, "almost like a dog with mange, or that it had been in a fight." The skin was much darker than its fur, but not black. The top of the cranium appeared much smaller than the wider jaw area, almost like the head came to a point. She did not notice it until she drove right by it--at first she thought it was a tree as it was completely motionless. Her line of sight was even with its chest. Her van is about 6’ in height, thus putting its estimated height at 7.5’. Angela believes it had been chasing the deer, as the deer was approximately 30 yds diagonal across the road. No other details, such as hands, feet etc were noted--as it was almost dark and the sighting was brief. She did turn the van around and go back, but it was gone.

Date: Early Spring late March early April - 2001

Location: Trigg County

Weather Conditions: Sunny, Calm Afternoon, Very Light Breeze.

Time: Between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.

Events:

I had been researching the Bigfoot phenomena for some time. I still classified myself as a novice in understanding the nature of these creatures. I hadn’t come across a whole lot of findings up until this point. It seems that for some reason my encounters of Bigfoot activity seemed to increase after the days events. From this point my research yielded several encounters with these creatures. Even though the account below doesn’t contain a sighting, it is very important to note that this event not only happened to me, but someone else as well. When I learned of this event from the person it happened to, I was very surprised. The fact of the matter is that this person had no knowledge of what happened to me on this day. What concerned me very much was the fact that there were small children in that environment that hadn’t been there previously. The event that took place with this person was almost identical to the events described below. The exception is that when it reached the spot where it stopped howling on the day I encountered it, it turned and moved deeper into the forest, howling as it moved along its’ course.

It was the spring of 2001, a nice warm, sunny afternoon in Western Kentucky near Lake Barkley. I had gone to visit a friend that afternoon; I didn't expect any out of the ordinary events to take place. I arrived at his house, was talking with him outside. It was typical for me to visit on Saturdays and we would discuss the week's events. Not long after I arrived he told me that he needed to use the phone and that he was going down to the shop where he worked to do so. He asked if I wanted to go with him and I said, "Well, if you're just going down there to use the phone and come right back, I'll stay here". He acknowledged that as being his plan and said he would be right back. He then got into his truck and pulled out onto the highway, going towards the shop. I sat there on his back porch, smoking a cigarette and watching his truck go down the road, until it disappeared. It wasn't long after his truck went out of my sight that I heard a distant sound. It is kind of hard to judge exactly how far away it was from me, but sounded like maybe a quarter of a mile. When I first heard this sound I thought it was a coyote. Sitting there I began to realize that if it was a coyote, there was definitely something wrong with it. Most times you will only hear coyotes at late evening, night and early morning. It was three in the afternoon, sunny and generally nice out. I heard it howl again, this time it sounded like it might be closer and moving through the woods that run behind my friends house. I wasn't real sure of it's' direction of travel, so I sat there patiently hoping to catch a glimpse of it crossing through the neighbors pasture. The howl sounded again, this time I knew it was moving closer and I realized that it was moving along the edge of the woods towards my friends' house. After the fifth howl I realized that it wasn't a coyote. If it was a coyote, it was like none I have ever heard before. With each progressing howl it moved closer to where I was. This howl got louder and louder as this thing moved through the woods towards me. A very predominant feature of this sound was that after each howl I got a very uneasy, sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It is very hard to describe, but I assure you it will never be forgotten. I was sitting there, wide eyed, looking for whatever this creature might be. With each howl I could tell that it was moving closer to me. I had heard about eight howls from this unknown creature when I guessed it to be no more than one hundred yards away from me. At that point I had heard, fairly well, its' direction of travel and it really didn't take long for it to cover the distance it had. Sitting there patiently, I heard one last howl that sounded like it came from the top of a ridge behind my friends' house. My eyes were scanning the woods, looking for any sign of this creature, no movement could be seen and there were no sounds other than that last howl. There were no more howls. What happened? Where did it go? I then began to think about what might be taking place. I have hunted those very woods for the last five years and have never really seen anything out of the ordinary. I do know that from atop the ridge where the last howl came, the house and back yard are visible. My guess it that whatever it was, stopped up on top of the ridge to figure me out, what I was doing, or maybe it knew I was there all along. I sat there, waiting for anything to happen, hearing and seeing nothing. I was in a very nervous state and felt very uneasy, not being able to see what this creature was. It seemed like forever, but then I heard the sounds of my friend's truck turning into his driveway. I was glad that the stalemate of sorts was now over. I didn't mention anything, at the time, to my friend about the events that took place while he was away. I didn't stay much longer that day; I was very unnerved by the event. I have heard of the "Beast of the LBL", but never really paid the story too much attention until that day.

Date: June 2004

Location: Trigg County

Weather Conditions: A cool, starry night, slight haze in the sky.

Time: Between 9:30 and 11:00 PM.

Events:

The area that I had been researching has a large piece of property in the center of it that is leased to a hunting club. That left me with the option of only researching on some of the private property that bordered this large tract of acreage. My findings in this area were somewhat limited due to not having access to the majority of the properties in the area. Nonetheless, I continued my research where I was able to.

Stopping by to see an old friend, a member of the hunting club, we got to talking and out of the blue he asked me if I would be interested in going camping. I said, “sure, where you want to camp at”. He replied, “Well, I was thinking that we’d go back to the hunting camp, on the hunt club”. I was somewhat ecstatic because I had wanted to gain access to that property somehow to see if I could find anything of interest, related to Bigfoot.

The rest of the afternoon was spent gathering camping gear, research equipment and such. Later, before dusk we headed out, on four wheelers, to the camp. We arrived at the camp and unloaded our gear. Once that was done, we decided to build a fire in the fire pit. Tending the fire and roasting some hotdogs, I could hear a lone coyote calling southwest of the camp. I listened as it moved behind the camp in an easterly direction, calling to other coyotes. My companion seemed to pay this little attention as we sat around the fire. A few minutes passed and he asked me if I’d like to go for a ride, I was agreeable and we started up the four wheelers and took off.

Heading out across the vast, wooded lease, I had no idea where we were going. It was dark and I was unfamiliar with the property in the daytime, let alone the night. We rode for a long time, out across this vast piece of property. One thing that I noticed was that during this entire ride, I never did see any animals of any kind. This area is covered with deer, rabbits, raccoons and other creatures that move about at night. It seemed like there were no animals to be found in the area. I suspect that it may be due to the fact that there was one creature that we did encounter that night, unlike normal forest animals.

We topped a large hill and started down its’ incline, my friend was a good ways ahead of me by a distance of sixty or so yards. He was hauling butt when he reached the bottom of the hill. The trail leveled out for a small distance and began to elevate slowly into about a twenty degree incline. When I reached the bottom of the hill, my friend was at the top of the incline ahead of me. All of a sudden, without warning he quickly turned off the trail to his left, drove thirty yards or so and stopped. I remember thinking, where the hell is he going? I focused my attention back onto the trail as I started up the slight incline. I immediately noticed something at the top of the incline, which was unlike anything I had ever seen. It was a pair of eyes; they had a very sinister look to them. Upon seeing the eyes I noticed that I couldn’t see a body or silhouette to go with the eyes. The headlights from the four-wheeler were not hitting it directly, so I attempted to turn enough to hit it with the headlights. As I did so, I could see this creatures head turn to its’ left, as a human would turn their head. Still seeing the headlights reflecting in its eye, from the side profile, as I turned the headlights in it’s' direction. It rapidly left the trail and went into what I thought was a wooded area.

The eyes were right below the tree branches, which were hanging over the trail, my estimate, about seven or eight feet from the ground. They were a solid amber color, with no distinction of eye banding, iris or pupils like you find in any normal animals eyes. They were large, slightly smaller than the diameter of a snuff can. They never blinked, at least not that I noticed. They were set at such an angle to imply that they were belonging to a creature that possessed a snout. The head movement was fluid, with only a slight bob as it turned its’ head. As it left the trail, its eyes never bounced, but moved in a straight horizontal line as it moved from the trail.

I reached the top of the incline and turned in the same spot my friend had turned, pulling in behind him, I stopped. I realized that his four-wheeler had died and he was trying to get it started. I asked him two questions, “where the hell did he think he was going?” and “did you see those eyes at the top of the incline?” He told me that when he reached the top of the incline he thought there was a trail to the side there, but was mistaken, as his four-wheeler was partially lodged on a bent over tree. He claimed that he didn’t see the eyes at the top of the incline, but I knew that he wasn’t being honest with me as we bushwhacked a different route back to the camp.
Instead of going back the way we came, we cut across a power-line right of way to another trail that led us back to camp.

We arrived back at camp and sat around the fire, sitting there thinking about what had happened. Thirty minutes or so had passed and from nowhere I started to get this overwhelming feeling of dread. It was like my inner being was telling me that I didn’t need to be there and that I should leave. After a short discussion about it we decided to leave, packing up everything and doing so. The return trip home was uneventful.

Follow Up: I have spoken to this witness several times via telephone. He is intelligent and sincere. He feels sure this creature was bipedal and possessed a 'snout', much like the 'Beast of LBL'. Could this be the same creature? kentuckybigfoot.com would like to express our sincere appreciation for his cooperation in our efforts to assemble a complete database of all Ky bigfoot/cryptid sightings.

Your first name: Mark

Which county? Stewart County TN / Trigg County KY

Estimated date? January 2006

Estimated time? 10:30 PM

What city, or nearest city? Dover, TN

Length of time the encounter lasted: Appx. 15 Seconds

How many witnesses? one, me

Please describe your encounter:
I was heading to meet a researcher friend of mine down in Tennessee, just below the KY/TN state line. I arrived at the place we were to meet and pulled in to wait. I sat there for a couple of minutes and decided that I would get back out on the road and drive. I headed south further into TN. I went maybe a mile before I saw headlights coming down the road towards me. I figured it was my friend as I hadn't seen any other vehicles since arriving in the Land Between the Lakes. As the vehicle got closer I decided to slow down, to try to identify whether it was my friend or not. I slowed down to approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle was getting closer. As we were about to pass each other I slowed even more to try to see the vehicle. All I know is that I turned to look at the vehicle when I was beside it and saw that it was him. When I turned back to the road, there it was crossing the road behind him in front of me.

Describe the creature with detail:
I was involved in Bigfoot research for around eight years. I have never in that time, or any other time past seen a creature exactly like this one. It was roughly the size of a big cat, mountain lion or panther. I knew it wasn't a big cat due to it not having a tail. It had a rather small head, which seemed out of proportion to its' body. There were no noticeable ears like you would see on a cat, however, there was an impression that seemed dark on the side of its' head that could have been an ear. The most noticeable weird thing about this creature was the way it moved. This thing was crawling real low to the road, and had a lizard like motion. Its front legs were pooched out to the side, almost like you see when you watch a bulldog walk. I guess the best way to describe it is to use a human comparison. If you were to get down on the floor like you are going to do push-ups, the way your arms would look was the same posture this creature had. As it got to the edge of the road it.

Additional Info: For some reason I had the impression that this thing might have been attempting to jump into the back of my friends truck as we passed each other. I don't have anything to verify that, but it seemed odd that this thing would pick that time to cross the road. Until talking with Bart I had never heard much about the gravedigger, never even knew there was such a thing. I'm not saying that this is what i saw, but it sure is possible. I have many friends who believe that this was a juvenile bigfoot, however I don't think that is the case.

Trigg Co.,1996

Two mussel poachers see BF while sitting in car at the edge of Lake Barkley. It disappeared into the woods when the headlights were turned on. Vocalizations were then heard and a large, heavy log was thrown forcibly against the car. The next day they returned to site and examined log, which, they claim, was so heavy that both of them could not lift it.

Trigg Co., edge of Barkley Lake, 1-15-81

The Cadiz Record reported that a long trail of giant footprints appeared there one morning. They resembled human footprints save for their size and the fact that the ball of the feet were straight wherein human feet they are rounded. The tracks continued for some distance through the town and were impressed more deeply into the snow than a large man could produce. Local authorities ruled it a hoax-though an extremely determined one who took the trouble to ramble through briars and thickets where no man could easily go. It is interesting to note that similar tracks appeared there 3 years previously in 1978
